- ➤ WSU led a BRAIN FIT initiative (Building a Repository for Aging, Interventions, and Neurocognitive Function) that held free cognitive health screenings in eastern Washington and northern Idaho this summer and found that hearing loss was higher than the national average among 160 participants. The project taught residents about lowering dementia risk and gave local students hands-on research experience while the team plans to find a sponsor to continue the mobile clinic next year. Dailyfly
