COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A comprehensive Halloween guide lists regional events this October 2025—showing pumpkin patches, haunted hayrides, trick-or-treats and costume contests in Moscow and nearby towns. Updates are added regularly to help residents plan safe, festive celebrations.  Dailyfly
  • A quilt from renowned fiber artist Celia Boland will be auctioned at Latah Recovery Community’s Soup’s On! Fundraiser in Moscow on November 5 at the 1912 Center (11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the silent auction winner announced at 1:00 p.m.) as proceeds benefit LRC. The quilt is on display at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce from today through November 4.  Pullman Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • Tito Puente Jr. will perform at the University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival from April 22nd through the 25th, carrying on his father's mambo legacy. The 2026 lineup has been announced + his performance will add a unique tribute to classic jazz.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the University of Idaho teamed with Google to give students free access to advanced AI tools and career training. The program offers Google Career Certificates, interactive AI training, and other tools to help students build job-ready skills.  Big Country News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute will host a scrap metal fundraiser at Palouse Nature Center on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26 to celebrate World Sustainability Day — community members may drop off metals like aluminum, brass, and copper. Sutton Salvage will provide a container next to the green barn and waive metal processing fees so that all donated scrap metal benefits PCEI.  Pullman Radio
  • Today the City of Moscow begins its fall burning season which permits burning garden waste, tree trimmings and brush—burn piles must be small, at least 25 feet from a building, and burning done during daylight with a fire extinguisher or hose until December 1.  Pullman Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • LC State Women’s Basketball team opens its third season today in Lewiston under head coach Caelyn Orlandi — the No. 7-ranked team in the NAIA preseason poll as it returns nearly 70% of last season’s scoring output. The Warriors face a demanding nonconference schedule that begins with consecutive games against Dickinson State on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25.  Dailyfly
  • LC State men's basketball begins its 2025-26 season today on the road against Arizona Christian, as coach Austin Johnson said his Warriors (featuring nine newcomers and veteran leaders) face a tough start with conference play set to begin on Dec. 5. The team (including key players John Lustig, Grayson Hunt and Peyton Nordland) aims to prove its energy against ranked opponents.  Dailyfly
