COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Dailyfly’s Halloween Event Guide lists family-friendly celebrations across the region—Moscow events include free Trick or Treating at the Dome on October 22 and a Downtown Trick-or-Treat plus a costume party at Moscow Moose Lodge on October 31 for safe family fun. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An Idaho Fish and Game hatchery truck crashed near Bovill last week on State Highway 8 while hauling 3,000 trout for Elk Creek Reservoir—a driver sustained minor injuries—and the agency is adjusting stocking efforts to boost fish this fall.  Pullman Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • Idaho Fish and Game is investigating after a bull elk was shot and left to waste near Moscow along Lenville Road (about 4 miles southwest of town), with officials saying the animal was likely killed on Friday, October 10 or Saturday, October 11.  Pullman Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • The University of Idaho Theatre Arts will present Pippin, a musical adventure with a score by Stephen Schwartz, starting Oct 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Hartung Theater (625 Stadium Drive, Moscow). Tickets will be free for students and range from $6 to $26 for the public.  Big Country News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Idaho drivers saw lower gasoline prices as the state’s average price dropped to $3.44 — two cents down from last week and nine cents down from last month, though it was three cents above last year’s mark. Nationally, fuel averages came in near $3.04 as falling crude oil prices and reduced demand point to further savings if cooler fall weather takes hold.  Dailyfly

  • University of Idaho President Scott Green received the Mt. Borah Visionary Leader Award from the Idaho Technology Council on Oct. 16th — the honor recognized his efforts to boost the university’s research profile with its Carnegie R1 status and growing work in cybersecurity, agriculture, and biomedical sciences — and he thanked his faculty, staff and students for their innovation.  Dailyfly

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Transportation Department and Office of Highway Safety — working with communities statewide — are observing Teen Traffic Safety Week from October 19–25 to remind teens and families to practice safe driving. They urge buckling up, avoiding distractions and driving sober as teen drivers face higher crash risks on Idaho roads.  Dailyfly
