- ➤ A state labor economist explained that while Idaho’s positive numbers such as a 3.7% unemployment rate and steady job growth show strong economic performance, rising costs for housing, food and transportation have left roughly four in ten households struggling to afford basic necessities—straining local budgets. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department is inviting 6th to 12th grade classrooms to name a snowplow in a contest that requires a 15-character submission by October 31—aiming to promote safe winter driving. - ➤ Two national groups that support private school choice filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit over House Bill 93 — Idaho's tax credit program that gives up to $5,000 for private school tuition. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Today, 121 Idaho mayors began the annual Mayor’s Walking Challenge organized by Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health to earn community grant funds by meeting daily step goals during October—mayors receive $500 for 165,000 steps or $1,000 for 310,000 steps.
