- ➤ Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse will host a free summer fundraiser at Merry Cellars in Pullman on Saturday, September 27 from 12:00—3:00 p.m. The event aims to raise funds for essential support programs that empower survivors. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Inland North Waste will host its 6th Annual Community Day tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Solid Waste Processing Facility in Moscow—free lunch, games, giveaways, and hands-on heavy equipment activities for children six and under will be available. Pullman Radio
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Tomorrow, the Morgan Brothers will perform at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn from 7:00–9:00 p.m. They will play folk, pop, country, and rock hits from the 60s and 70s and offer $15 tickets at the door or online to support live music programming at a nonprofit arts organization. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Today, the University of Idaho Dance Program is hosting the ninth annual Creativity in Motion Dance Conference in Moscow where dancers, students, and educators from across the Northwest gather for workshops led by keynote speaker George Staib — a top dance educator — and regional instructors. Saturday, the conference will feature additional workshops, professional development sessions, and a 7:00 p.m. performance at Hartung Theater while registration costs range from $75 for one day to $85 for two days with ticket prices from $5 to $20. - ➤ Latah County Sheriff’s Office lowered evacuations to Level 1 for the White Pine Fire after crews made progress, reporting that the fire reached 78% containment on Thursday. A new Type 3 incident management team will assume command today and authorities warned that several roads and trails remain closed—Giant White Pine Campground and Laird Park are among the sites. - ➤ On September 25, the Second District Magistrate Commission interviewed candidates for the Nez Perce County Magistrate Judge vacancy and unanimously selected Kelley Porter, a longtime county attorney who also teaches at the University of Idaho. - ➤ LC State Cross Country stayed in the NAIA Top 25 after the women ranked 21 and the men ranked 25 finished strong in the first two races this season. The women—led by Damaris Kibiwot—and the senior-led men will race at the WWU Bill Roe Invitational in Ferndale on Sept. 27. Big Country News
