- ➤ Containment of the White Pine Fire increased to 58% as firefighters managed about 1,000 acres in North Latah County on September 22—around 350 personnel fought the blaze that started last month. The U.S. Forest Service spent nearly $14 million east of State Highway 6 near the Giant White Pine Campground and the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest remains closed. Pullman Radio
