- ➤ A bat found in downtown Pullman tested positive for rabies on September 19 and is the first case detected this year in Whitman County. The public health department advises anyone who had direct contact with a bat in the past month to contact their healthcare provider and recommends residents bat-proof their homes — and avoid touching wild bats.
