ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The White Pine Fire in North Latah County grew to 30 acres in timber east of State Highway 6 near the Giant White Pine Campground after it was discovered Sunday afternoon—officials have not estimated containment progress yet. Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A research team including University of Idaho physics professor Matthew Hedman discovered Uranus’s 29th moon on February 2 using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope — the 6-mile satellite appeared in all 10 long-exposure images and moved at the expected speed for Uranus’s gravity. The finding adds to the densely packed system of Uranus — future studies will examine how the moon interacts with its neighbors. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Moscow will conduct a household income survey on September 22 to gather data for future grant applications that will fund projects for parks, roads and water systems. The survey will be sent to random households, takes less than five minutes to complete and all answers will remain confidential — residents are encouraged to participate. Dailyfly
