- ➤ Firefighters battled the five-acre White Pine Fire on September 1 near the Giant White Pine Campground (State Highway 6) using a helicopter from Camp Grizzly to fight the blaze that was first spotted around 5:30 p.m. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Candidate filing ended Friday in Moscow, with three people running for mayor to replace Art Bettge—nine candidates are competing for three city council seats.
