- ➤ Idaho Health and Welfare Director Alex Adams announced a policy that will change how foster youth survivor’s benefits are used by July 1, 2026 — the funds will be applied only for unmet needs and the remainder saved for future use. Between July 2021 and May 2025, 326 foster children lost their intended Social Security benefits when nearly $2.3 million was used to offset care costs — under the new rule, the money will return to the children once they leave custody. - ➤ Attorney General Raúl Labrador said Idaho defeated a legal move to block House Bill 264, the university restroom privacy law, which stays in effect as the case continues.
