CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An armed standoff in East Moscow ended without injury on Wednesday when police, SWAT, and officers from Whitman, Pullman, and Lewiston responded to reports that 48-year-old James Shepard was displaying explicit images and later fired a gun outside his home before barricading himself and being arrested around 10:00 p.m.—Shepard faces charges for unlawful discharge of a weapon, disturbing the peace, and resisting officers. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at University of Idaho led by engineering grad Adrienne Shea and Professor Matthew Bernards will send bacteria-resistant coating research to the International Space Station on August 24 at 2:45 p.m.—testing the polymer in zero-gravity conditions. The research aims to protect astronaut health and improve water and medical systems—benefits that may guide future space and Earth applications. Pullman Radio

- ➤ The City of Moscow is starting a roadside improvement project on C Street between Almon Street and Jackson Street on Monday, August 25th—this work will install ADA pedestrian ramps, a new illumination system, curb and gutter, and sidewalks while temporarily closing westbound traffic.
