GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador signed a multistate letter led by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird on Friday questioning if a new net-zero carbon emissions standard is legal under state and federal law. The letter, signed by attorneys general from 23 states, asks for documents from the Science Based Targets initiative to review if the standard could harm competition and violate consumer protections. - ➤ A federal judge will require the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to reconsider 2024 decisions on gray wolf protections in the Rocky Mountains after outdoor sporting groups file their appeal with the Ninth Circuit—arguing that the ruling may disrupt state wildlife management.
