COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Great Moscow Food Drive returns Saturday, August 2 collecting cash and food donations for local food banks and agencies at East City Park — residents can also drop off donations at the Farmers Market. It will benefit Weekend Food for Kids, Moscow Food Banks, West Side Food Pantry, and Deary Food Bank — helping support community members in need.  Pullman Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • Puppeteers for Fears will perform their new R-rated show Robopocalypse: the Musical at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, August 3; the performance will use hand-and-rod puppets with a live band (featuring digital backdrops and VR effects) to explore a cyberpunk story (and the show is not meant for children).  Dailyfly
  • The Annual Return to Riverside country music festival will be held in Potlatch on Saturday at Lions Club Park. The event is headlined by Dale Watson, known as the father of Ameripolitan country music, and tickets cost $35 with gates opening at 11:00 a.m.  Pullman Radio
  • Repertory Theatre’s Kids Drama Camp will perform Peter Pan at Hartung Theatre this weekend with shows on Aug. 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and on Aug. 3 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.—tickets cost $16 for general admission and are free for children 12 and under.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Idaho raised $67.6 million in fiscal 2025—the highest amount in its history—to fund scholarships, academic programs, faculty support, and campus facilities. The record campaign began six years ago and will continue until December to bolster the university's education and research efforts.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Brad Little appointed Juliet Charron as the new director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. She will assume the role on September 15 and replace Alex Adams, who now serves at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services—Charron currently oversees Medicaid and behavioral health programs serving hundreds of thousands.  Dailyfly
