- ➤ Bryan Kohberger’s sentencing hearing is set for tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Ada County Courthouse — his guilty plea for four counts of first-degree murder and a count of felony burglary ended a long legal process — and victims’ families will have a chance to speak. Big Country News

- ➤ The University of Idaho is offering Idaho’s first Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering to prepare students for mining careers—students can complete the first two years at North Idaho College before transferring or study all four years in Moscow. The program covers courses in environmental best practices, renewable energy, natural resources, and modern mining practices—U of I President Scott Green said it is a workforce solution for Idaho’s future. - ➤ The University of Idaho and North Idaho College are launching Idaho’s first geological engineering degree that begins this fall at NIC or on the Moscow campus — a program developed with local mining leaders to train students in modern mining and environmental safety. In North Central Idaho, Idaho County got $2,264,963, Clearwater County received $988,232, Latah County was granted $317,541, Lewis County received $10,653, and Nez Perce County was awarded $108,530—all intended to support local public services.
