  • Moscow’s annual summer camp-themed block party, Moscowanna, took place on Main Street between 3rd and 6th on June 12—offering live music, camp activities, food, beer and wine to local visitors.  Pullman Radio
  • Today, the Moscow Public Library invites adults to a free game night (6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) where attendees play board games, bring their own, and enjoy light refreshments.  Pullman Radio
  • The MHS National Honor Society is hosting a bingo night today at the 1912 Center in Moscow— the event runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., costs $25, and supports Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse with food and a door prize drawing.  Pullman Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • APOD Productions is presenting Fiddler on the Roof at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow this June with local performers bringing classic tunes by Jerry Bock and choreography by Jerome Robbins to the stage—today’s show is at 7:00 p.m. while later performances will run at 7:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on selected dates.  Pullman Radio
  • The University of Idaho is starting its year-long celebration of the Kibbie Dome’s 50th anniversary, which began when the final arch was placed on June 11, 1975. The event lineup includes a weekend celebration on September 13 during the game against Utah Tech — featuring memories, special activities and commemorative merchandise.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Neill Public Library is starting its summer reading season on June 14 with a day-long celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. that features activities, a one-man band performance by Eric Haines and reading logs for kids aged 0-17—additional events include live music and storytimes scheduled later in the week.  Pullman Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A 10-year University of Idaho study found that moderate cattle grazing did not reduce sage-grouse nest success on public lands in southern Idaho. The research tracked over 1,300 hens and 1,285 nests — showing that cattle and sage-grouse can coexist — and its results are now published.  Dailyfly
  • Fire officials predict a higher risk of large wildfires in northern Idaho this month— the threat will extend to southern and central areas from July through September. Melted snow and drying grass add to the danger, and state and federal agencies have boosted firefighter pay and staffing to prepare for the summer season.  Dailyfly
