EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The U of I Theatre Arts Department will offer a summer aerial arts camp for youth ages 7 to 18 that has two options—one for younger campers from June 23 to 27 with a showcase on June 28 and one for older campers from June 23 to 27 and July 7 to 11 with shows on July 11 and 12—and costs $225 for the basic course and $375 for the extended program, with registration closing on June 18. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The USDA approved a SNAP waiver that will restrict the purchase of soda and candy in Idaho starting January 1, 2026 — a change that is part of the Make America Healthy Again strategy — and Idaho Governor Brad Little called the move common sense. Dailyfly
- ➤ The Latah County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Moscow will change to a court holding and daytime booking facility as local arrests made during normal hours will be booked there before inmates are sent to Lewiston or, after hours, to a jail in the valley—officials began the transition after the jail failed inspection last fall and a 13 million-dollar upgrade was deemed only a temporary fix. Local leaders are working with county commissioners and the City of Moscow to plan for a long-term solution. Dailyfly
