CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Megan Griffiths ’97, an acclaimed filmmaker and U of I alumna, will return to Moscow to receive the inaugural Trailblazer Award at the KINO Short Film Festival—marking its 25th anniversary—with a screening at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre and a film directing masterclass at the U of I Education Building. - ➤ Appaloosa Museum and Heritage Center in Moscow will leave its building on Pullman Road when its collection is packed up June 30th. The museum will shift to a new location—officials keep it undisclosed—after selling the old building that needed $350,000 in repairs. Pullman Radio

- ➤ The Idaho State Board of Education will consider a proposal to change Lewis-Clark State College's name to Lewis-Clark State University at a regular meeting Wednesday and Thursday on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow—if approved, the proposal will be sent to the legislature for review. - ➤ Thousands of students are coming to Moscow for the 58th Annual UI Lionel Hampton Jazz Fest that runs today through Friday at the University of Idaho. Evening concerts start at 7:00 and the festival offers adjudicated performances, jazz workshops and artist meet sessions — Friday's show will feature the Lionel Hampton Big Band with percussionist Jason Marsalis. - ➤ University of Idaho and University of Phoenix officials said they remain committed to forming a partnership to support education in the state despite no visible progress. - ➤ Moscow will begin a major pavement restoration project on White Ave next week from Mountain View Road to the Troy Highway that grinds and inlays two inches of asphalt while extending a 10-foot pathway.
