CULTURE NEWS

  • The Palouse Patchers host the 2026 Quilt Show (A Quilter’s Garden) at the Latah County Fairgrounds from today until Sunday, Apr. 12. Over 200 quilts, vendors, refreshments, and a raffle quilt draw mark this longstanding tradition.  Pullman Radio
  • Dahmen Barn is hosting the Palouse Women Artists spring exhibit, which started April 9 and will run until April 26. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at 1:00-3:00 p.m., and a gem and mineral demonstration will occur on April 18.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Idaho is opening its $17.5 million Meat Science and Innovation Center at 775 Perimeter Drive in Moscow today from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The 12,750 sqft facility—replacing a 1960s building—will expand classroom space, research opportunities, and beef processing for local ranchers.  Pullman Radio
  • Spring Parent & Family Weekend at the University of Idaho kicks off today with a concert from rapper Lil Jon at 7:30 p.m. in the ICCU Arena, and tomorrow brings a dueling pianos show at 6:00 p.m. in the Pitman Center.  Pullman Radio
  • Fifteen young ladies will take part in Moscow’s Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship Program on Saturday night at Moscow High School — the event starts at 6:00 p.m. and the winner will advance to the state program this fall.  Pullman Radio
  • NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik will deliver the keynote at the 14th Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium on Monday, Apr. 13 at 5 p.m. in the Menard Law Building. His talk on media freedom will precede discussions with journalism students & the free event is open to the public.  Big Country News

  • The community is invited to join the 7th Annual Palouse Mental Health Walk on Saturday, Apr. 11, at Friendship Square in Moscow. Check-in starts at 10:00 a.m., a costume contest begins at 11:30 a.m., and a 5K run kicks off at 12:30 p.m.; registration is free + open to all.  Pullman Radio
