Good morning, Moscow.

The University of Idaho will host its 58th annual Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival from April 15 to 18 in Moscow to welcome 2,200 students and educators for jazz performances, free workshops and Meet the Artist sessions.

Evening concerts start at 7 p.m. and feature headliners such as Arun Ramamurthy, Take 6 and the Jeff Hamilton Trio — events that promise a rich musical experience.

The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts will present 'Pinocchio', a musical adaptation by Greg Banks with music by Victor Zupanc, beginning with a preview night at 7:30 p.m. on April 24 at Hartung Theater at 625 Stadium Drive in Moscow—tickets cost $6 to $26 for the public and are free for U of I students, with six more shows scheduled through May 4.

Today, emergency responders will conduct a training drill at the University of Idaho's Memorial Gym from 1:00 to 4:00 to test police and fire units' response to an active assailant using simulated gunfire.

Officials advise that the heavy presence is only a drill—Rayburn Street between 6th Street and Nez Perce Drive will be closed during the exercise.

Lewis-Clark State men's tennis moved up two spots to No. 22 in the NAIA on Wednesday, marking their highest ranking since February 2021.

The Warriors (9-12) will begin postseason play Apr. 17-19 in San Antonio.
