EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Idaho and Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah have agreed to develop a new medical education program in the Treasure Valley to train local residents. The initiative will expand in-state physician training and support rural workforce needs (as per HB 368).  Pullman Radio
  • Veteran journalist Robert Bryce will speak at the University of Idaho Energy Symposium from Mar. 4 to Mar. 5 in Moscow. His keynote (scheduled for 7 p.m. on Mar. 4 at the Bruce M. Pitman Center) will address future reliable energy as industry and community members gather.  Dailyfly

  • The Palouse Conservation District will host a free Zoom talk today at 6:00 p.m. where Tal Atkins explains how unique species in the region guide local conservation planning.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State budget cuts approved on Feb. 6 will force the Idaho DEQ to reduce water quality monitoring, including harmful algal bloom detection, in fiscal year 2026 & eliminate vacant positions as current funding is already less than half of what it was 20 years ago.  Big Country News

  • Gritman Medical Center finished an 18 month upgrade to its Sterile Processing Department on Feb. 9, expanding surgical capacity with a new electrical room + advanced equipment in its older wing. The improvement supports broader efforts to deliver better care to Moscow patients.  Pullman Radio
